Behind the artwork, muddy footprints, is me, Emily, an artist, maker, and storyteller inspired by nature, imagination, and the magic hidden in everyday things. From creating whimsical characters to teaching creativity, everything I make comes from a love of storytelling, curiosity, and bringing a little wonder into the world. The Small Folk make their homes amongst roots, moss, old flowerpots and all the places Human Folk rarely think to look. Each has a peculiar trade, a muddled history and some terribly important work to be getting on with.
Meet the Small Folk
Standing tall amongst allotments, vegetable patches and unruly gardens, the Straw Folk listen to secrets carried upon the wind. They are watchers, storytellers and rather unreliable bird scarers, each with a character entirely their own.
Meet the Scarecrows
The Scurry Folk are the creatures that flutter, scuttle and wander alongside the Raggedys. Some are trusted companions, others cause considerable trouble, and a few simply turn up one afternoon and refuse to leave.
Make, Bake & Grow
The Tinker Shed is where the Raggedys keep their recipes, patterns, projects and other useful bits and pieces. Everything here is free for the Human Folk to borrow, make and muddle through in their own way.

Small Folk and Straw Folk are handmade one at a time, so available designs, order spaces and lead times change throughout the year. Follow the order book to discover which folk are currently available, what is coming next and when new making spaces will open.

The Raggedys are made to have adventures, and adventures leave their mark. When a Small Folk comes home a little more worn, or a Straw Folk has stood through one storm too many, The Raggedy Hospital is ready, a cottage infirmary for sympathetic patches, loose stitches and lives well lived.
