Straw Folk

Lottie Longlash, Original Strawfolk Raggedy Scarecrow

£95.00

Only one exists.

Lottie Longlash has never been known for keeping a straight face.

With her enormous wide eyes, fluttering hand-stitched lashes and tiny pouty lips, she looks permanently astonished by everything happening around her, and, to be fair, allotments can be very surprising places.

A courgette appearing overnight? Astonishing.

A snail halfway up the bean frame? Scandalous.

A sparrow sitting on her hat without asking permission? Frankly unbelievable.

Lottie likes to know exactly what is happening in every corner of her garden.

Her wonderfully wide eyes miss very little, while her pursed little lips make it perfectly clear when the birds have been helping themselves to the seedlings again.

Despite her dramatic expression, Lottie is a friendly soul.

She loves cottage flowers, village fêtes, crooked garden paths and any vegetable patch that has been allowed to grow just a little bit wild.

She firmly believes that gardening clothes should still have flair, straw hair should be worn big and every allotment deserves somebody fabulous watching over it.

🌾 READY TO SEND

Lottie is a ready-to-send, full-size Scarecrow in a Box kit.

She will arrive flat-packed and ready for you to stuff, assemble and bring to life at home.

When assembled on the recommended frame, Lottie will stand approximately 6ft tall.

Her finished height may vary slightly depending on the wooden frame you create.

Her clothing may vary slightly from the photoshoot pictures because reclaimed garments are used, but it will always be carefully chosen to complement her colourful, cottage-garden personality.

👀 HER WIDE EYES AND LONG LASHES

Lottie’s enormous button eyes are individually finished with long, hand-stitched lashes.

Her tiny pouty lips, rosy cheeks and raised eyebrows give her a wonderfully expressive face that is completely different from every other Raggedy scarecrow.

✂️ HANDMADE FROM FORGOTTEN THINGS

Every Raggedy scarecrow is made by hand in my little workshop using reclaimed fabrics, recycled materials, vintage finds, charity-shop clothing and forgotten textiles that deserve another adventure.

And handmade really does mean handmade.

These scarecrows aren’t designed to look perfectly uniform or factory-made—they’re perfectly wonky and proud of it!

You may spot visible stitches, mismatched fabrics, patches, different textures and quirky little imperfections.

That is all part of their charm.

No two Raggedy scarecrows will ever be exactly the same.

Rather than arriving as a mass-produced garden ornament, Lottie arrives ready for you to build, stuff and finish bringing to life.

🌦️ LIVING OUTDOORS

Lottie is designed for gardens, allotments, vegetable patches, community gardens and outdoor displays.

As with any character made from reclaimed textiles, sunshine and rain will naturally weather and fade her clothing over time.

This simply adds to her Raggedy character, although sheltering her during severe weather and storing her somewhere dry over winter will help her enjoy many more adventures.
